The Bridge – YDP
Who we are

The Bridge Project is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union. It is a community based and supported Youth Diversion Project which provides a range of educational and recreational activities for young people between the ages of 12 – 17 in the Leixlip District (Leixlip, Celbridge, Maynooth and Kilcock).
A steering committee made up of representatives from the community and In Sync advise the project.

What we do
The aim of the Bridge Project is to support and enable young people who are:
- at risk of being involved in crime or anti-social behaviour in their local communities.
- already involved in crime or anti-social behaviour
- And guide them to become involved in positive developmental activities in their own communities
What we offer
- Direct Work— working directly with young people and their parents individually and/or in small groups to explore alternatives
- Issue awareness programmes—provided to groups of young people on issues such as personal development, life-skills, drug and alcohol awareness and the impact of crime and anti-social behaviour on themselves and their communities
- Networking with agencies in the area— such as schools, Gardaí, Residents Associations, Community Groups etc
- Family Support— support and information is provided to the parents and families of young people involved in the project
- The Bridge Project offers opportunities to young people for education, employment training, sport, art, music and lots more.
